I think you will hate crossing through the city of Mexicali, and would advise crossing north at Tecate and then continue east on to El Centro if
that's where your going. Sorry, I don't have any idea where Sentri is or how to get to it... I stopped crossing north at Mexicali.
I think maybe bajalou or MeFez may have a Mexicali street map...??
How are you and Mike doing??

keri, they have sentri at both crossings. If you are going to yuma the best way is to head to the east border. I have never waited in a line there.
Downtown the wait can be 10 mins at the most.
The easiest way is to stay on 2 toward mexicali. you will turn right on Lazaro Card##as just before town it will signed. Stay on that until you get to
benito Juarez. Go around the traffic circle and head north. There is a movie theather to your right. that takes you to the border. You can turn west
(left) 2 miles to the downtown crossing or Right on the street (Argentina) one block before the border fence and that will take you to the east
border. Good luck
Mickey
Getting there is ALL the fun!
Ok being here is fun to

The Mexicali Downtown SENTRI lane is a lot easier to find than the one at the East....Oriental...gate. All you have to do is take Mex 1 to the border
fence and then turn left to the border crossing. Then you stay in the left lane of that busy street and it becomes the SENTRI lane. Max wait is
about 10 mins...usually less.

Correct there are two.. but the one to the east is the one which one can complete SENTRI registration... we did mine San Yasidro... but needed one for
the wife too ... only one "close" and a quick time for interview of the wife was Calexico... so over we went for a night in El Centro ... and an
interview and completion of my wife's SENTRI in time for departure into Baja...
It's way the heck away from Calexico ... and just about everything

Do you mean Mex 5? Mex 1 doesn't come anywhere near Mexicali. The 1 shown on the map above is Baja Calif 1.

YES MEX 5.....Sorry 'bout that. I goofed.
Just follow the signs on MEX5 in townb to the border on MEX5 and then drive along the fence to the West and stay in the left lane....you'll see the
SENTRI lane sign about a half mile from the gate.
At that point you will find fence between the SENTRI lane and the regular lanes....SENTRI lane is only one car wide. Before that place you will be
sharing the left lane with local traffic.
From the entrance to the single SENTRI lane to the gate is usually less than 10 minutes...I have never spent more than that in the lane.
BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE SENTRI PASSES FOR ALL....ALL!!...PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE...NOT JUST THE DRIVER. You will be required to show your SENTRI card to
the card reader and you may be required to show your passports to the agent at the gate too...that varies.
Best of luck.

The Sentri use in Mexicali is great compared to other port crossings and a lot faster for sure!! I go to Mexicali a lot to eat, see doctors, get
medicine and visit friends that live there. When you are using the Sentri to get back into the USA at the old port just watch out for pot holes in
the lane used for getting into the Sentri. They still need to fix those dang holes that keep getting bigger.
I have been told they plan to close the old port at some point to do construction on it for both Mexico and USA sides, however not sure when this
construction will start.
The good news is both Mexicali Port of Entries are good, as the East Port (which is the new port) the Sentri lane is clearly marked and easy to get
into. Now, the old port Sentri lane is also very easy along with being clearly marked so you don't get messed up being in the wrong lane. Must say I
just love my Sentri crossing card!! LOL Take Care & Travel Safe---- "No Hurry, No Worry, Just FUN" bajafun777

do you have SENTRI already? or Are you trying to go to the Border Patrol office to do your interview etc?
There are 2 SENTRI crossings in Mexicali. One at each crossing point.
As far as getting to Mexicali from Tecate, just take the 2d east towards Mexicali. It will connect to Hwy 5 and at this point you can go to either
gate.
At the roundabout, if you stay to the right you will go to Gate II
if you go to the left, you will be at Gate I
If you have any other questions U2U me and I will help anyway I can
PS
Bing Maps by far has the best maps to plan a trip in and out of Mexico.
