Passing a cool food idea for the dog(s)

Few months ago, my vendor that drops off unwanted breads and cheeses..............told me this: Take the unwanted bagel and dry it out. Feed it to the dogs instead of the expensive beef bones. "It's what the dog kennels are now doing" he said.

So I rope em up and dry them up. .....and the dogs (5 we have).....love em! It takes a good long while for the pups to chew thru one...hours!

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Good point - there are several things we usually don't think of that make the list of best not to feed dogs. Jim

My motto... Never give dogs any human food! Never!

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

My motto...give the dogs all the leftovers, give them all the fish scraps(after being boiled down with salt added for flavor and to soften the bones.

All these leftovers that are normally wasted have valuable energy that a dog could use. Why throw out when you can recycle via a dog? Begging is not an issue as it is not tolerated. I've have 3 dogs all of which are extremely healthy and never have needed to go to the vet.

Not only does it minimize waste, it also saves me money.

to each is own...but I bet I have happier dogs come dinner time!

Raisins....who would have thought
My wife says Chocolates are toxic to dogs too.

Why is Chocolate Lethal?

Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it's the theobromine that is poisonous to dogs.

Beer for Dogs

Talk about hair of the dog ... Now man's best friend could become his best drinking buddy, too, thanks to a beer designed especially for dogs.

Sold in a glass bottle with a contented German Shepherd pictured on the label, beef-flavoured Dog Beer is being pioneered at a Derby pet shop.

Non-alcoholic and said to have nutritional value by retailer Pets at Home, the drink is proving popular with customers at the Meteor Centre store, according to manager Mike Hall.
