Damn-another gun battle

Me and my SO were at Baja Studios today working as extras and heard 6 loud pops. 2 trucks had run the military checkpoint south of Popotla fishing village going north, shot at the military and were taken out , not sure by whom or if they took out each other. 2 dead and at least one wounded. Were told by the ambulance driver on the set that they were supposedly cartel members. Scary and too close to home.

These dumb jerks had to be looking for trouble , as to really think they could just drive through this military check without stopping and not getting SHOT or SHOT AT! Must have been dipping into the drugs they deal, just reckless with no regard for life or others they place in danger. Glad to see the military is at least getting better at shooting moving vehicles with cartel members not making it. Take Care & Travel Safe--- "No Hurry, No Worry, Just FUN" bajafun777

That is not what happened. Two men in a minivan parked in front of a curio shop were attacked by other men in a black Cherokee. Both men in the minivan died.

It was like that long before you got there Krafty. El Teo had a place near Popotla. They should keep their turf assassinations off the Artisans Blv'd mid-day (Blvd. Popotla) or they will hurt the local tourism in a very very bad way.

Yep, except for the part about running the military checkpoint, and except for the part about shooting at the military and being taken-out by them, and except for the part about it being two trucks, and except for the part about there being at least one wounded, it was pretty much the same story.

"Where was the military during all of this........"

Within ear shot. The same place they are while all the water taxis launch from the same location, taking workers north to San Diego beaches.

Not even close to the same thing. You reported what you heard, you passed it on as fact (or did you say it was your opinion?), and the rumor mill kicks in -- and the chickens start running in circles crying the sky is falling..... Semantics? And you know for a fact that it was a drug related dispute, right?

Check out those feeding this neurosis.

From the way the military handles/ignores/prevents/enables these crimes- you'd think no one was watching them. They do know Al Gore invented the internet a while back- don't they. Many of us accept their impotence- but they really don't need to continue proving it to us all the time.

Migrating from Mexico isn't illegal in Mexico. Mexico, and the US, only have problems with immigrants entering their territory.
Just a follow-up thought to yours, Ken.

Same thing with real estate fraud in Mexico. It is not illegal to advertise and sell what you don't own- a crime is not committed until you actually give them the money (and it's too late to get it back after that).
