TJ Police Chief breaks off deal with the CAF cartel... what deal you say??

Many of us have said deals will need to be made with the cartels for TJ to return to peace. Indeed deals were made- but for what purpose? There is no peace- as of yet anyway. They do need to make a deal with the Sinaloas, if they haven't officially done so already. Chapo has the $Billions and the influence over everything here already (police, politics and military checkpoints) - not the local boys of the CAF anymore. The only way to reduce the violence is to embrace the elephant in the room instead of throwing it peanuts. jmho.

Tijuana police chief: "I broke off agreements with the Arellano Félix Cartel

TIJUANA .- Tijuana police chief, Jesus Alberto Capella Ibarra, said that in his first act as head of the department, he broke off agreements the police had with the Arellano Felix cartel leadership.

During a meeting with members of the Early Bird Group, the city official stated the agency's public safety programs, that he heads for the second time and which he took over in early October, have to date arrested 12 dangerous criminals.

Among those mentioned is the case of Juan Francisco Sillas Rocha, "El Sillas" - lieutenant of Fernando Sanchez Arellano, "El Ingeniero", leader of Arellano Felix cartel - captured by his bodyguards last Friday after an attack on a couple.

Ibarra revealed that “Sillas” warned, "things changed in Tijuana when you arrived. Agreements were broken, and there were not many."

"I'm not saying my predecessors had anything to do with this, it's his and their words," said Capella.

I think some sort of peace can be had in TJ, just as long as the Zetas don't come calling.

It was rumored awhile back a few months back that Leyzaola made a deal with CAF, but it didn't make big headlines because Leyzaola is no longer chief of police in Tijuana.

It wouldn't surprise me if it were true.

Wooosh what do you mean embrace the elephant in the room?

The Sinaloans. The war didn't work. They have the money and have now bought the power. Just accept it and move on. Chapo has his eye on other countries (already has Australia from what I hear) so why not let them take him on until Mexico has the laws, prosecutors, judges and jails to handle this level of crime? The people need a break.
