Vag rentals in Loreto.

Has anyone rented the Vag's Loreto property? We have been interested in devoting a week there, and wonder if it is as nice as it looks. Thank you in advance

I have stayed in Loreto a great # of times at a variety of locations. Sorry, not familiar with this location, but there are many that will be able to convey an accurate opinion I am sure.

We stayed there a few years ago. They were great. If we were to stay there again we would try to get the most western unit. We were in the most eastern one and the folks on the main drag behind us processed a lot of fish and didn't clean up too well so there'd be a godawful stench at night if the breeze stopped. And I mean righteous. :wow:

We also have spent many nights in Loreto, this is the best place to stay, and it's operated by some really nice people.

Vagabundos rentals

I am familiar with the property. There are two and they are well maintained with a 24 hour security guard and inside the gate parking. They are two story and there is a pool. They are located north of Calle Juarez one block off Juarez. If you took the cobblestone street north of the city hall and crossed Juarez for one half block you would run right into them. They would be on your right. They are two stories with palm room. Everything you need is there for you. Julies place, Iguana Inn is very nice too and Julie and her husband are great people from Huntington Beach, California. Both places are ideally located near everything you will need.

Anonymous posters (op ed)

It would be really great if you at least typed in a name or handle.

IF you actually took a minute and registered here, then that would actually make your posts credible (even with a ficticious name, believe it or not).

I frankly give no weight to opinions on places to avoid by anonymous posters. It could be the competition driving away customers.

You can use the edit feature to go back and add a name in your posts, if you wish.

Just something to consider, have a nice day!:)

I don't know who the anonymous poster was...but, given that there is not much credibility that can be given that kind of post...for instance, see all the posts on trip advisor extolling the virtues of Baja Outpost, when all I've heard is complaints...I thought I'd put my two cents in about Villas de Loreto.

I don't know if it is the best...best changes depending upon your needs and resources. We like staying there, and are going back for our fifth time in the last two years in a week. It does have some advantages. It's on the beach, some rooms have cooking facilities, the pool is nice, the restaurant is good and the people who own it are helpful and friendly. It is smoke free, which is either an advantage or disadvantage depending upon your point of view!

The original question, however was about the vagadundo rentals. I can't compare as I've never stayed there.

Villas de Loreto

Are nice but, you are a fair distance from town. If you have a car its no problem. Ron and Wendy are good hosts and do run a very nice operation. There is a beach in front of the Villas but it is not real good for swimming. Great view.

I am the one who refered to The Iguana Inn on this thread...I did try to edit when I discovered that I was not logged in....Oh well... I also know of the Vags rentals, and enjoyed them also. Loreto is growing, lots of new places to stay....

LOOKS GREAT!

Iguana looks nice, as I prefer a basic but clean place in that price range.

I rarely find myself staying in lodging during the days while on vacations so just intend to shower and sleep there.

It would be great if they had an address or map on the Iguana website so I could see where they are from downtown, etc

Dolphin Dive center put THIS MAP (*click here*) and it really helps new visitors.

True, they are not right on the beach. But, they have great kitchens and they are secure and there was plenty of parking behind a gate w/a watchman for my boat. The price was the kicker for me if you are a member it's pretty damn cheap.

My 2 cents worth

We stay with a lovely lady named Gail Wright. She owns the Hotel Quintas San Francisco on the malecon catty corner across from the marina. Wonderful views, clean rooms and only $39.00 a night. If interested I have her email to make reservations, k :bounce::tumble:
