The best report I have read in a long time. For such a short trip you managed to cover most of the good and the bad of the Baja. I really injoyed the
pictures.

Glad you guys had fun. Sometimes the hardships are what you laugh about for years! Holidays are trouble to travel thru even in Baja. I would have
offered a free nite or two here on the beach in Pescadero as others I'm sure would have also . Next time Amigo. BCS is like the North
Shore--discovered but if you know the inside track... Aloha. Tio

Hey All, appreciated the comments, thank you. Thanks also to the people that tried to help with posting photos, I tried for a couple of hours from my
Picasa account but ended up opting for the slideshow as a workaround.
This report was initially a series of emails I was writing to my wife and other daughter to keep them apprised of where we were and what we were
doing. I just clipped and pasted them to create the report. But I noticed that some place names are lacking and I think they would help flesh out
the report for people familiar with Baja (unlike my wife and daughter). Additional information;
In Ensenada we stayed at Casa del Sol right on Calle Lopez Mateos. Not sure where Fenix or the breakfast place was, about 4 blocks inland from the
hotel. Dinner at Bahia Marisco, something like that also right on the main boulevard.
In El Rosario everyone told us to stay at Baja Cactus but by the time we arrived they were full. We ended up next door I believe the place was Mama
Esposito's or Mama Espinoza or something like that. We ate dinner and breakfast the next day at Ed's Baja Best Cafe. Real coffee in the morning and
pretty good place to collect info on the area.
Casa Leree in San Ignacio for accommodations and probably not only one of the best but probably one of the only dining options, Cafe Ballene in the
old bank building just off the main square. Didn't mention it in the report the the food was pretty good here.
In Loreto, the Juniper Hotel and for our Christmas dinner, the restaurant immediately next door to the hotel. Great cerviche, live dinner serenade,
slow service.
In La Paz we stayed both nights at Posada Luna Sol, probably one of the nicest places we stayed. Hot water, good security. One room we had a
wireless signal in the room, the other didn't. By then I was used to getting email out in the courtyard. Dinner was at La Mary y Pena, probably one
of the better choices along with Super Burro and it's competition across the street, Authentic Super Burro. Don't bother along the malecon, we
stopped for a snack at Bismark and they forgot about us even though they weren't busy.
In Los Barrilos we stayed at a place that I don't even think has a name. immediately after turning off the main road into Los Barrilos Roadrunner
restaurant is on the left, on the right is a small strip mall with a bank and an ATV rental business. The owner of the ATV place can set up a room
$50 a night, very nice rooms, make sure the hot water lasts more than a minute. Continuing down the road another 200 yards the taceria on the left
next door to the supermarket. I don't think the place has a sign but there are tables out front. Food here was pretty good.
In San Jose del Cabo we stayed at Olas hotel. Pretty basic, $40 a night.
We've had enough time to rest up, catch our breath and get back to work. Wish I was in Baja!

Oh, the car rental worked out to $1,050. Airfare from La Paz to Tijuana was $160 one way on Volaris Airlines. Overall the whole trip worked out
pretty inexpensively even with the car rental.
