Plants are really something ... can't get up and move... so they do the best they can where they are... really a striking photo IMHO ...

Neat fotos!

Appear to be Brandegee's Palms (San Jose Hesper palms) which are know to occur in the Sierra de San Francisco (cave painting area)...

Notice the one clinging to the side of the cliff...

Brahea brandegii and Brahea armata---both occur there along with lots of intermediary hybrids (notice the green of the brandegii and the greys of the armata)....very cool!
