what the hell is this rig?
as seen this past friday at first light along the side of the grade going down into the Santo Tomas valley where the road is still dirt. obviously,
the wheels are on the wrong side from what the engineers intended!
the guy standing nearby said it had been there 3 days. it was still there last night at dark. it must have been quite a pucker-er for the driver!

I have seen them parked during the day by my old office. They are use to haul super heavy loads at night, sometimes for over sized loads too. Some
have a pushing rig also. That tank must have been heavy, finding a crane to move it should take some work. Physicist can be a b!tch.
Woody, how many days of waves did you get it should have been 2 or 3. Sorry, I missed this swell, will day trip this week end though. MMc

i surfed 2 days. the coconut guy at the market in catavina enticed me into eating an entire coco on the way south. 48 hours later my entire intestinal
tract was brawling!!!! cramps every 20 minutes.....
fished the other 2 days and the conditions couldn't have been better!

I've seen many scenes like this one...a fellow or two left to keep an eye on the wreck, often with a tent and campgear. Sometimes those guys were
still at the scene a week later.
Wildest one I can remember was a plane crack-up when the pilot took the only escape from certain death possible..land on the Baja road. The piloto
hired a rancher to ride night watch..and saved the wreck for salvage.
Sooner or later, you're gonna see everything possible on that highway. 
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Looks like an underground storage tank for gasoline, but I don't think it is. Usually made of fiberglass (these days) but this one looks metal and
would be a tad heavier. Either way, a surreal picture. That dude set his tent using the tank as a barrier from being run over? Wtf? Seems like any
rational person would camp off the road a little further.
Glad you got some waves.

As heavy an item as it must be as evidenced by the heavy-hauler transporter, it could be a piece of process equipment for the copper mine in Santa
Rosalia.
Seeing as the Santo Tomas grade is just a training run for the Santa Rosalia grade, the hauling company may want to re-think their transport strategy!

I can't for the life of me see how you could roll a trailer and have it sitting in that position. The most likely roll would be towards the outside of
the curve, rather than the inside. The trailer and the load also would not be in their current position had they rolled.
As such, I actually believe they may be trying to load that tank onto the trailer for the 1st time. someone already stated the dificulty in finding a
suitable crane, this is probably the solution to the missing crane.
I dont have anger management issues, I have idiot management issues.

Last week we passed that rig in Maneadero. They had three diesel rigs attached to each other and pulling real slow. The tank must have thick walls
because it did not look that big.
