Canyons just north of the propane plant N. of Santa Rosalia

Thursday Friends took me for a ride in the canyons beyond the propane plant. It was spectacular but too many rocks really slowed us down. After about 2 hours we'd only traveled 6 miles up the big canyon you look down on going up the big grade N. of Santa Rosalia.
Too many pix to post here but you can brows through them in my PhotoBucket site:

In 1995 I spent a few days in that area.....just past the small airstrip north of town....the yellowish-coloured canyons to the west of that dirt road offered some fossilized sharks teeth.....20 million years or so old.

Great trip on the 4 wheelers, Russ. Bet you had a ball!

We did some 'treasure hunts' in that area a long time ago...and I know I've got some great pics of that time. Of course, they are lost in my 'catolog these' maze somewhere....

.... but I did find this one titled under ..ah...a different theme .....that I know was from that same place.

Around 1979. I am withholding any names.
