Sunbathing in the Tijuana River flood basin

Taking advantage of the heat that was present today in the city, a man took a break in the Canal of the Tijuana River at the height of the colonia 20 de Noviembre.

Ken, just too funny but unless he is drunk his chances of remaining lying out like that permanately are very good!! Just maybe not the way he intended to be lying out there. Take Care & Travel Safe---- "No Hurry, No Worry, Just FUN" bajafun777

Same place in not such good times. Circa 1972
We called it 'Cardboard City'
Use to go look for runaway orphanes there
Camera was incognito as Gov. was not happy.

Walking over the pedestrain bridge over the TJ river
it is common to see folks doing who knows what,
I can't imagine what the water quality is, however
it probably doesn't compete with a river that flows
thru Mexicali, then ends in the Salton Sea,
called the New River, it ranks as 1 of the most
polluted waterways in the US

In 1993, I remember walking with friends from one of the border-area bars towards the Rio Zone in Tijuana and running and jumping across this river. It was funny, because I didn't quite make the leap, so I washed my foot and leg off in a broken fire hydrant near Calle Revoluccion/Primera.
