An Egret of a different color.
Here's some shots of a Reddish Egret in action. Unlike many Egrets that slowly stalk for little critters to eat, these birds chase their prey around
the estero with wings flapping to scare something up to dine on.

What do you make of that behavior?
Do you think they're herding the fish into the shallows? Herding them into more vulnerable areas?
It makes no sense to just scare fish.

Well, I think these Egrets chase and scare the fish to separate the weak from the strong and to help herd them into tight groups.

I think the bird is a Blue Heron...
however, Iwill stand corrected by the kingdom of Nomads if I am outnumbered.

Udo,
The entire series is shot in blue tones. The warm tones just aren't there. The land is blue, The water is blue. The bird is blue. So the mistake is
understable.

Cool photos! Side by side the differences are obvious. I just got your book for a birthday gift from my boyfriend and I love it. It's really well done
and I'm looking forward to bringing and using it on my Baja trip coming up here in 2 weeks! I can hardly wait!
