Calm Before the Recent Storm

One thing for sure around here is that the weather is often very different from day to day.

It was like summer with warm north winds, and then the storm came in for a couple of days followed by days with not a cloud in the sky and warm weather and not a lot of wind and not quite as cold at nights.

Today was more like a day in April when it can be quite cold and VERY windy---blew like crazy. But now at 5:30 in the afternoon, the wind has died down and it is warmer than earlier--really very nice.

We hear another storm may be on its way here ---- MAYBE.

Thanks and glad you will continue to enjoy the picture.

Bad backs are not fun---so well we know. Hope you get to head back down soon.

Did ya get some rain the last couple days? Forgive me if I missed something. I think it's supposed to rain Tuesday wednesday, just prior to my central coast arrival! Hopefully just enough to keep the dust down but not enough to muddy the roads!:)

No the rain was last week---and yes, if we get more, we hope it will just be enough to keep the dust down.

This place is just not set up for rain---here is a picture of a local access road to the beach after the recent rain.

And we drove to the dump today and the road was a little torn up--very passable, but places with some deep ruts.

Hopefully that hot baja sun will dry that dirt real quick.

Those are really good photos of a really big mess! Thanks for posting them.

Here is another access that didn't like the rain and of course some kids looking for a way to have fun with it.

And they did!

We drove from Abreojos to Bahia Asuncion yesterday. The salt flats road between Abreojos and La Bocana is great, a few damp spots to avoid, but no problems. The high road (follow the power poles) between La Bocana and San Hipoloto was fine, but the salt flats road was too wet for my comfort, so we enjoyed the washboard of the recently graded high road.
I did hit a big, unavoidable puddle at about 40, with the windows open.
We took green (brown) water over the bow and swamped the pilothouse before I could get the windows up.
It dried fast, but is a bit of a mess.
Spending a few days in Bahia Asuncion before heading to Ojo de Liebre on the 16th.

Ooooh neat picture, Diane. Sends a shiver through me.
Little is as chill as a windy winter day on a Pacific beach.
Beautiful... but damp to the bone.

Your weather today looks exactly like ours. There's rumor that winter may be arriving at last - although I suggest we don't hold our breath.

Thanks Nena---

I think, however, it is probably damper and colder in your neck of the woods.

You really need to head for that warm Baja sun, SOON
