Cell service and wifi at LABay?

Sorry, been away for a bit,

Headed down to Bahia de LA next month and curious if the promised cell service ever arrived?

Also, wondering if any of the local spots have wifi.

Been a couple years since my last stroll through the town, so looking forward to being there.

Anyone else in LABay the last two weeks of March?

There are posts from last year that said cell is "coming soon" but in our beloved land of manana that may be anytime in the decade

Any specific places you can suggest wifi?
It will be easy enough to ask around, just was hoping someone knew a specific place

thanks

Because all the internet here comes through a satelite connection free wifi is a little harder to find. I know that the xitlali store has internet, Lizeth phone store, La Isla market, La Hamacas and for sure the Costa del Sol motel.
The cell tower is installed near the power station transformer but no service yet. When you get into town you will see several places advertising wifi.

Larry, I thought I recall someone said a tower was installed on top of the ridge near the San Juan Mine (by helicopter?)... Any thing on that?

David, you disappoint me, I was sure that you would put me on the hot spot.
Oh well, no harm- no foul
I will post a definitive (well, estilo Baja definite) update in a month

meanwhile, off to Israel for two weeks,
then a few days to pack and LABay for 10 days

This semi-retired life is getting pretty boring

WiFi in LA Bay

I swear that we had WiFi at Villa Bahia the last time we were there.
Maybe I'm fuzzy, but check with them.

David
I'm pretty sure that tower is for internet, but it may well have a dual purpose. Either way though cell service isn't available yet. Manana, siempre manana.

I will help you and pay for the internet fee at one of the local places in case you spent all your money on your current trip. What a guy I am!

I go to Baja to avoid all that instant communication stuff.
