Wow.....last time we were there the road was a good washboard.....and very few others on it. Sounds like the San Felipe road....will bring in more settlements and business

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

So you drove around that pile of dirt blocking the road at the turn off to El Encanto and continued to the Zacatitos turn? Thanks.

I've been here on the East Cape 30 years now and the bad road is a blessing to this place, and why it is still quiet and peaceful here. We have saying "Bad Roads/ Good People". Pavement would be the kiss of death. Keep your "progress" in town, this is not Orange county.

Most agree, Cancamo and others! Watch out for DavidK and his lectures! Country livin with dirt roads and pot holes keep out the Developers! It's been awhile since they fenced areas off but for the last 10 yrs no more development! Support all opposition to big projects on the east cape! Tio:cool: ps Do you live in Vinorama or Shipwrecks area?

I agree with Cancamo 100%. For 20 years I used to go to the East Cape, but no more. There is just too much developement there. Now I go to a different spot, but its not as good as the "old" East Cape was.

My most recent venture out to the East Cape, the paved road was inland. They were not paving to old dirt road. My thought was that when it comes time for the developers, they need to have unimpeded real estate so everything on their property would be ocean front or ocean view.

Historically, the old San Jose Road out of Cabo was hugging the shore. Many years ago, we drove out from Cabo along that road as far as where the former Twin Dolphin was. Similarly, when we drove out to LA Playita, the road North was right by the shore all the way to Cabo Pulmo.

So. Is this paved road to which you speak, inland?

Yes, the new paved road is inland. At some point they will pave a handful of tributary roads that will tie into the old coast road.
