Mexico Tourism Bounces Back (article)

Baja isn't mentioned but good news on the mainland might be viewed favorably in Baja.

''Mexico has taken a beating over the past several years, ever since the triple whammy of drug violence, the H1N1 flu scare and a prolonged recession that curtailed travel in the countries that supply the bulk of its tourism. But if the Tianguis Turistico at the end of March is any indication, the country's tourism industry has bounced back in a big way.''

They can write all they want but the proof is in the pudding.

Where are the tourists in Southern Baja if things are getting so much better?

Here is another article from "Frontera" and briefly translated by the Baja blog" Mexicoperspective" that says Baja California has best Easter Week for tourism in 5 years.

This is really great news. The article also mentioned from Thursday April 5 through Saturday April 7 an estimated 338,000 people traveled across the state visiting some of Baja's most important tourist attractions such as beaches, La Bufadora, wineries, and nightclubs.

The beaches were a favorite destination of the tourists, places like Rosarito, and San Felipe.

See the rest of the article because I only touched on a few details from the article:

From the Mexicoperspective:

Baja California has best Easter Week for tourism in 5 years

In what may be a sign that tourists now understand that violence in Baja California has gone down dramatically in recent years, Baja California had its best week for tourism in five years, officials said. Story, Frontera (PDF).
