HEY------REMEMBER THOSE.............

.............arched structures over the road between Maneadero and Sto. Tomas....looking very much like inspection stations, three lanes in each direction?

The same structures are going up on the Tecate Road around Testarazo.
Looks like major inspection is in the offing....maybe.

Anybody have that foto of the structure on HWY-1 ?

Saw the ones on the Tecate road too. Inasmuch as even though the ones on Mex 1 have been in place for a year or more, just have to wonder if they were not more the result of politics and graft in the process of allocating money for highway construction.

After all, one needs to question just why the military checkpoint did not relocate to the new area, with something like 6-8 lanes, if it was actually intended to be for a military checkpoint.

This is especially true considering that the most recent and current pronouncement is that folks must get their papers at the border upon entering.

Who knows?:?:

I am amazed at the new ones near Maneadero on Hwy 1 in that no one has plowed into them! There really is no "logic" as to entering but I can see someone not really "getting it" and picking the wrong lane or changing lanes at the last second going 50 mph.

Seems like lately they are concentrating more on the toll road as to check points instead of the others???

We ask about the one at Testarazo and were told it was for a military check point
