Mood: thriving in Baja

When I was a young teenager I remember Florence Chadwick, who had a restaurant near us in San Diego, swiming the English Channel both ways (46+ miles) but I thik the SOC would be much mre difficult and scary.

2012-06-12 10:46:19 - From the Crew

Paul put in an amazing effort. He pushed through incredibly challenging conditions with lots of jelly fish, wind and currents. In 24 hours he conquered 30 miles. With one and a half times the distance left to travel, core temperature cooling, and legs dropping in the water, the crew pulled Paul from the water. He is safe, talking, and resting. Everyone has lots of jelly fish stings, but none of them serious. He put out an incredible effort, and he is considered everyone’s hero down there. So proud of him!

Can't wait to hear from the whole crew. On their way to Loreto now.

good effort Paul...I have a question...wouldn't a swimmer wear some sort of protective suit...lycra or something to protect them from jellyfish stings?

Talk about tremendous effort and dangerous to boot, damn lucky nothing more than jellyfish got him. Better conditions and you'll make it next time.
