TW, I agree....it is pretty amazing that the voter turnout is sooo high...like over 80% I was told yesterday. Juan told me that most everyone votes because the government keeps track of WHO votes and who doesnt...one wouldnt be eligible for any government funding program if you didnt vote and they say it also affects the ability to get a passport....not sure it is true but that is the perception anyway.

It is very formal...everyone gets all gussied up to go vote. At about 4:30 we got a call from Juan's sister reminding us to vote...how did she know we hadnt? Anyway, its a very big deal.
