I have a 100-400 I dont use anymore that I would part with for $1000 if you want it.

If your shooting sports you really want fast glass, which is big money for the most part. A 70-200 2.8 non IS can be had for $900, and you can find a Canon 40D in the $500 range and a 50D for a little more.

So figure $1500 if you want a DSLR with the most versatile fast telephoto lens.

Here is a example of a shot from a 7D with a 70-200 2.8 in a sport like setting



We are looking to hook up with a race team to do some photo work if anyone knows someone in need.
