One of Pomp's best.
Rob
Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.
I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

Roger,
Sadly I had that one lure you didn't want to give up as a memory of you hanging from the mirror of the RV in Asuncion before it was burned.
Thanks for all the fun comments.
Zane used to live and fish here in the White Mountains as well.

I miss Pompano. An entertaining writer and always a gentleman. This board could do worse than emulate those two qualities.

Abso freaking lutely! What a cool thread to read thru and a wealth of info on the early days of fishing innovations.

Who invented the engine cut-off switch? Common sense ignored by many…

He was really lucky (and really stupid).

I have always hoped Roger would put out a book with a compilation of his many Baja story’s and great pictures. That would rank right up there with
many of the Baja classic books. We are rapidly loosing what Baja was like “back in the day”.
