It's all about the FOOD!

Summer is when we get folks from "the other side" visiting here to escape the heat and families on summer vacation. It's fun to show them around so they get a taste of the culinary treasures in Asuncion....(and gives me an excuse not to cook too!)

First we sampled the wares at Loncheria Mari where Tomas served up periwinkles for an appetizer followed by fresh grilled halibut...and his homemade burgers for the locals at the table.

The next day we attended Shrimp Taco Saturday at Tacos Don Ramon for the worlds best shrimp tacos with incredible toppings.

Then Nan & D hosted a nice carne asada potluck at Galeria Bahia. It was great to get to know new friends and catch up with some old ones too....while dining on fine fresh food. The highlights were mexican pizza, smoked yellowtail, pasta salads, salsas, carne asada, rice pudding and Nancy's Barbecued figs were out of this world!!!...ya gotta try this! Many thanks to our hosts for having the gang over!

and today is rotisserie chicken day...whew...what a food workout it's been.
