Loreto fishing sucks

Went out yesterday and there was one boat that reported one dorado landed. We brought two small females to the boat and released them. No sardines, no Sargasso, no temp breaks, hardly any signs of life. Bought 15 mackerel. Had a good hit over the rocks next to Isla Coronado that shredded my line. Other than that drank a lot of beer.

DONT eat at Tio Lupe - terrible food and the wait was 45 minutes!!!

I thought Mulege's motto was "no bad days", too.

Doesn't sound like you were in Loreto. Wrong island and wrong eating establishment.

If you don't know where you are at, the day might of sucked, big time.

We are having pretty much the same situation in Santa Rosalia, lots of Dorado but mostly small, not much in the way of billfish, bait has gone absent, and it is pretty warm. Heard that they are catching Baqueta at Tortuga Island, but the bait is at 500 plus feet and the Baqueta are at around 650. So you reel up the bait, then put it back down in the Baqueta hole where you get to reel up a 40 pound fish from 650 feet and try to do all that without breaking a sweat in 100 degree weather and 75% humidity. Think I will wait till it cools down a little.

No bad days?Passed a camper/RV on Hwy 95 (8/9/'12) with a "No bad days " sticker a few miles south of Sandpoint, ID. Probably a Nomad. Traffic was bad.

My mind and fingers just do not work together!

Naturally I knew that Coronado Island and Tio Lupes are in Loreto but I guess I had Tio Pablos in Las Barillas and Cerralvo Island outside of La Paz on my forgetful mind.

I hope I remember where I put my good friend and buddy Don Julio. I have until 5:00 to find him (Happy Hour)

I don't know, went out yesterday in a tin boat just north of Dr.s Point and got three small dorado and a nice Sierra in less than two hours. We were using light tackle so I consider that good fishing.

4 peanut dodos today after 8 hours of fishing. Again, by Baja standards Loreto is not the place to be. Muy, muy trieste! We are outa here in the morning headed to Bahia Asuncion for some jurel.
