Butterfly
We've had tons of the yellow one but I saw this guy and zoomed out my new camera to 1000mmand then cropped it. No other enhancement done.

Beautiful photo Russ. Looks like a Gulf Fritillary, you must have some passion vine nearby.

Is this the vine?
What I thought was cool was how well the shot came out using a hand held 1000mm zoom lens and then blowing it up. It's the Nikon P510 I've been
talking about.

Not a passion vine I'm familiar with Russ. Should be some pretty ugly caterpillars on it for that butterfly. There are about 5 native passionvines
in Baja and with your rain probably growing well (or a neighbor has one granada de china, granadilla, rosol de la pasión)

Russ, that's a Phaseolus filiformis vine (Slim Jim Bean). A passionflower vine around you would look like one of these:
Passiflora palmeri

or Passiflora arida
