Beware of huge new fees at the Bancomer ATM
By Club Admin on Sep 26, 2012 Baja Good Life Club.
BBVA Bancomer has raised the fees to use their ATM machines from $20+ pesos to $66+ pesos per transaction, and the fees appear to be at ATM machines
across Mexico, including here at home in Baja. After checking with Banamex, Banorte and a couple other popular banks, at this point the rise in ATM
fees appears only at BBVA Bancomer ATM machines. When the ATM fee is added to your US bank fees, it can cost as much as $10US dollars to get cash
pesos from a Bancomer ATM.
About 20 million of the bank’s customers carry out more than 80% of their transactions through BBVA Bancomer‘s electronic channels, which include more
than 700 million annual transactions across their network of more than 7,800 ATMs.
In addition, BBVA Bancomer has over 1 billion transactions at point of sale terminals; 100 million transactions through Línea Bancomer (Bancomer Line
telephone banking), 600 million transactions at Bancomer.com, 25 million transactions at Bancomer Móvil; 54 million transactions at BBVA Bancomer Caja
Express (Express Cash), in addition to the more than 1.5 million Express Accounts operating in the country.
BBVA Bancomer was founded in 1932 in Mexico City and today serves over 11 million customers, and has 1,704 bank locations.
Currently, we are unable to find a reason for the sudden and dramatic increase. However, $66 pesos can add up to big bucks out of our pockets and
based on the numbers above, it is additional huge profits for BBVA Bancomer.

also bancomer
My wife and I noticed this last week, and posted the new much higher fee on the baja pony express. Then on the 28th , Bancomer posted that the new
higher fee is ONLY on foreign cards. I hope they miss our money. Banamex works just fine for us.

Thanks for clearing that little tidbit up.
Guess it's Banamex from now on.

Uhhh, it probably has something to do with garnering sudden and dramatic profits.

So with a Banamex card the fee is not changed? Anyone tried that?
