todos santos

I'll be visiting Todos Santos for a week around the end of January. I know it's not the best time of year for fishing but I gotta get a line in the water. I want to spend some time casting from a beach and hiring a panga/guide for at least one day. Any suggestions for terminal gear for casting from the beach and good beaches for fishing. How about a panga/guide recommendation.

I like Lobos pre-sunrise. (South of Todos) Almost always catch something here -- usually sierra, some rooster, occasional yellowtail. Mid-way from the South end to the lighthouse. Check with pangas launching from the South end if you want to fish in deep water. (You need a license to fish from a panga and don't know if they'll require one.)

I use Matador's most of the time and buy them at Jensen's. Stephen Jensen can advise you on other lures. Minerva's has everything too.

Jensen's is on Card##as and and Minerva's is on Blvd. Marina, both in downtown Cabo. (January is a good time for yellowtail.)
