San Felipe Road Report 10/10/2012

Just got an email from my neighbor who lives in San Felipe full time. He told me that the road closeure is down to 8 miles of off road driving.

I am going down this weekend and will have first hand update to report back.

Next thing you know we will be counting down the miles till it is finished all the way to Gonzaga. Pretty soon. I'm heading down in November. I expect it to be finished...hoping.

Just got back about 10 miles headed south last Friday...yesterday morning, they opened up that stretch ...now just a couple of miles of graded dirt detour....paved to Bufeo...then well graded till the hills above Papa's, but not bad...HUGE pilings forms in place for a bridge to cross the big arroyo just before the Papa hill...
Be careful if you drive at nite...detours and DROPOFFS remain poorly signed...road south to Coco's in pretty good shape...Rancho Grande to Coco's about 45 min...
