And that is the exact point of all this nonsense. It isn't what didn't happen....it's what could happen.
Be prepared for everything and more than likely, nothing will happen.

That's correct Dennis. We also traveled to Cabo and 2,600 miles without needing to show it. The office was even open at the Eagle Monument and we were
just waved on.

That has usually been my experience too in GN (just waved through); but last time I was passing through (September) a new agent thoroughly inspected
my tourist card, asked me where & when I had purchased it, etc. Much more thorough than in trips past. So you never know and it's not worth the
hassle of not having it on hand.

Thanks for all of the excellent info and reports. Very helpful!
Just spoke with the nice folks at Baja Bound. They talked with someone at the immigration office at Chaparral who said that both the bank and
migration offices are open 24/7.
Great news for us, as we hope to make a 6am crossing in early Dec. That does conflict with an earlier report here of the bank opening at 9am, though.
Any additional info or experiences would be much appreciated!

The 9am comment came from someone who guessed because it was called a bank instead of a payment window. Bank hours being shorter.

On August 12, 2012, they made me pay at the bank (well, at the payment window in the bank building).

Our friends picked up and paid for their tourist card on a Sunday evening last weekend ( 11/18) so i do believe the 24/7 is true. We had warned them
they might have aproblem and they shared that the office was not showing any signs of closing.

Just arrived in Guerrero Negro after drive from San Ysidro. Border is quite nice, drive to the right, sign says "Declaration", park in ample parking,
walk into new huge building "SAT/Aduana", get FMM. Immigration is open 24 hours according to official. Bank, however, is open 6 AM to 10 PM. We
used prepaid FMMs, no need for bank. Everone was very nice, helpful, and friendly. Very beautiful buildings, immaculate restrooms. Pompano's video
put us right on the correct road, thanks. Best crossing ever.

Now, my friend, I expect some fresh mission site photos this season... Guadalupe (del Sur) remains un-visited by you or I, so far! However, we have
some never seen before photos of adobe wall ruins there taken by Max in our book. The visita of San Miguel begs for some photos... Ed Vernon has some
pics of the graveyard there, he didn't find anything else. It was great to return to the Real de Santa Ana last July with Bajatripper... and see it is
all still there, but now behind a locked gate. On Google Earth, you can make out an old road system from there heading towards 'El Oro'/ 'El Rosario'
perhaps?

Best crossing ever! I did not need to stop, my last FMM's are good until saturday but it was clearly marked with signs where to go and 6 lanes open at 6 am on friday morning. Easy and clear markings to put you on the road to the
toll road.

Yep, done that back road. There are two other access roads to the site David, one 4X4 up the streambed. I'll get back to you on the other sites,
unpacking now.
