Canadian paleo-pathologist Eldon Molto is leading the search for clues of the mysterious Pericu people of Baja California, Mexico - a fierce,
independent tribe that disappeared over a century ago, after being exposed to European disease. They left virtually nothing behind but their bones.
But by using DNA, Molto is piecing together the story of the Pericu and along the way makes a surprising discovery that raises questions about
identity and our own existence.

Micah, whole link won't open for me. I have a done a lot of research on the Pericue over the last few years and El Molto was one of the first to do
DNA studies on their bones, but, that was many, many years ago. He then said the DNA showed them to be part of the Western States walkdown Indians,
grouping them with all the rest. Since that time science has questioned his methods, his theory after they found lots of Pericue skulls around Cabo
San Lucas and elsewhere in the south here --- there is serious growing evidence that they came here by boat or raft as far back as 40,000 years ago
not just a few hundred years ago with the Guaycura, Chochimis and others.

Windgirl, thanks for that. I'm interested because I live 700 meters from the home of the Las Palmas Indians. I did a follow up and found this:

Isn't it great how much of this region was researched by William (Bill) Massey in the 50's and 60's? That his ex-wife and step son are Baja Nomads
with so much wonderful experiences to share with us. Last July, we even went to the beach will Massey's ashes were put out to sea... The museum in La
Paz has artifacts he (and the family) dug up, too.
We must publish our discoveries, so the next generation can continue with the research and add to what we have found to date!
