Question about International Road northbound
Coming north today, was routed to 2nd Street to the border at San Ysidro due to construction northbound International Border road. Does anyone know
if it is really necessary to take 2nd Street at that point, or do they have a detour further north where the construction begins, letting you get back
onto 2nd further up? HOpe I'm making sense!

Don't you have to be careful of the one-way streets in there? You could be forced into one unknown turn and never be heard from again.

I like taking 2nd street, you see a little of tijuana and it takes you right to the loop, I dont think its takes all that much longer, youre still on
mexico time,right?

Re: International Road Closure
Hi SDRonni,
Yes, you can continue north on the International Road. You will be detoured at the bottom of the hill as the road runs along the border fence.
There are some detour signs, but when I went through on Monday morning, I lost the detour route. Upon my return to TJ that afternoon, I saw that the
detour returns you back onto the International Road a mile or so to the west - before you turn with the TJ River toward 2nd Street.
If there's any amount of traffic, it seems it would be just as quick, if not quicker, to go ahead and pass through the downtown on 2nd Street - just
my 2 cents.
Regards,

Street construction anywhere in Messico is a downright hassle. Don't know what they are thinking. No signs and/or cops standing around when they are
supposed to be giving directions.

After the last toll just go straight and turn left at the first light. Now you are on second st. to the border lines. EASY!

About half way down Second you'll see on your left the large cathedral or church and the cross road next to it is closed for a couple of weeks around
Christmas. [Hey....I'm in Mexico where it's still OK to say Christmas]
Large tents are erected, most of them are restaurants, and the food is wonderful. No square plates or crystal wine goblets and you won't find a pot
of Baja-Med food anywhere on the street. Just middle class fare.....Enchiladas, Beans and Rice.....for instance.
It's a walk from the border and worth the effort.
