Watch the Baja 1000

Thinking of a motorcycle trip to BOLA to watch the race. I've stayed at Costa del Sol and camped at Archelon many times. I would like to stay at Costa del Sol so we don't have to haul the camping gear. How early should I get reservations for the race (Nov 15-17)? Where and when should we go to watch the race?

See the Score website for future race details. As stated, it only goes by L.A. Bay on some years. Http://www.score-international.com

It goes to La Paz (or Cabo) every 2-4 years, but not every year since SCORE took over the 1000 in 1975 (in fact it wasn't until 1979 that SCORE first ran it to La Paz, as had been done by NORRA and BSC from 1967-1973.

NORRA is back in business running a rally race from Mexicali to La Paz or Cabo... it stops for the night in L.A. Bay.

As has been already stated, the SCORE BAJA 1000 will NOT run to La Paz in 2013 (they just did it last month)... It will loop around northern Baja going no further south than San Felipe or Matomi Wash.

The 2012 Baja 1000 map (last month) is posted here (in the Baja Nomad Off Road Forum): http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=63019

2013 will not go to La Paz or into Baja Sur at all.

If you want to watch the NORRA 1000 the end of April you better book the rooms early. NORRA books all the LA Bay rooms for the racers and crews. Of course you can always camp.
