Udo, Curious as to how it worked out showing your Cape trip
boarding pass to Tecate Immigration? With the assurance
from Cabo Airport Imm that a free fmm replacement would
be issued when you drove across?

It did not work out, Sancho.

The INM people @ Tecate had some idea of what I meant to do, but (according to the computer less INM official), there was no way I was going to get another 180 day FMM with my boarding pass from 3 days earlier.
I had to pay for new FMMs.
Fortunately I did not have to argue with customs about bringing in the kayak and declaring it as a vessel.

NEXT TIME...and there will be a next time...

I will have "LOST" the temp INM FMMs when we get ready to board the plane again. INM will just have to issue us new ones to replace the lost ones...if we have to turn in something
(It's nice to have a wife who works for the airline and we get to fly for free and pay no check-in bag fees).

Thanks for posting our photos, Shari & DK.

went by the ice cream place yesterday (easily visible from the main road).

Today i made breakfast for a few and afterwards we took the kayak out again.
The wind started out light (about 7 knots), and it took us about 3 hours to make to San Roque island.
The return trip was a doosey!
Made it back to the bay in less than 45 minutes and the wind was howling at about 22 knots.

WILD RIDE!!!

I would like to post my photos but it would take me four days to download what I need, to Photobucket. I'll wait until I get back and make a public bucket post, + facebook.
My Mac and Safari don't seem to like Shari's INFINITUM router

I'm going to sleep now so I can wake up and get served another amazing breakfast tomorrow...yeah baby.

We are all in party planning mode for the end of the world fiesta on Friday...who's in?

Tandem Islands

Udo, I gotta say I'm impressed!!!!

I have the same Hobie Tandem Island Kayak as you, I used to haul it around in the back of my Tundra with a bed extender until dragging it in and out (190 lbs) started tweaking my already operated on back..... I now have it on a trailer and hauled it down to San Felipe over ThanksGiving weekend and it was a pain to beach launch in the soft snowlike sand there.... Question is, how do you roof mount it, how do you muscle it off and on? I have the beach wheel setup also so hauling to the waters edge is no problemo. I have a 2012 FJ crusier and am looking at roofing it but the initial lift of the bow.....how do you handle it?

BTW...
I closed all of my chached pages on my Mac and there is a marked improvement on speed.
After seeing, Shari's and Rick's WINDOWS machines fly by my Mac, I figgered I had some trouble-shooting to do. Had some time this afternoon, since it was too windy to take out the kayak.
Even Juan came in with only one yellowtail, but a whole bunch of bonitos. He took out some kayaker that were camping @ Shari's campground.
Glad to see that the wi-fi range extender is now working for you Rick.
For those not in the loop, Jana and I climbed up on his rented house roof (after making breakfast), and mounted the wi-fi box on his Directv mast).

I have very fond memories of sitting in Shari's kitchen and eating wonderful food. Great memories, and your photos and words bring it all back. We'll be heading south soon, no itinerary yet, but La Bocana and Bahia Asuncion may be on the list.

With the wind howling last night, and this morning very breezy and brisk, the kayak will have to stay on the beach again, and we'll take the FJ to La Bocana, Puerto Nuevo, and Malarrimo beach.
