Mexican Army Staff, said in the Llano Checkpoint Colorado a cargo of about a ton of abalone, in what could be the most important seizure of pirate product of this species in more than 20 years in California.

Data obtained by Ensenada.Net indicate that the seizure took place around 15:00 pm on Thursday, 20 December at the checkpoint Llano Colorado, Transpeninsular road, between St. Thomas and St. Quentin.


The site stopped a Ford panel truck 1990 model white plates AM89259, national circulating from South to North.


The unit was manned by Jaime Antonio Lopez and Heriberto Estrada Rembac Martin Melendrez.


Aboard the panel were in boxes of 20 kg each, 34 boxes of crab claws, lobster 1 box and 52 boxes of abalone were presumed captured illegally.


The crew could not prove the legal origin of the product, as the fishing guide, only amparaba crab pincers, not the lobster and abalone.


Following the assurance, the Mexican Army, he notified the Conapesca Find and delivered the goods available to the Attorney General's Office, where he is awaiting the completion of 48 hours to proceed with the provision of detainees.

i once saw a group of 6 guys camp out and take every Ab down to the size of a silver dollar. i was told it was to try to force out a family who fished the area for decades. of course, this was in the area that shant be named, and it is ongoing for differing species today but is still pillaging....
