8 Days in San Felipe

Just got back from a mixed week in SF.

It was a great week leading up to New Years eve, but around Dec. 30 it got windy and coooool, or at least for us desert rats, the Canadians seemed to like it.

The roads were great. Made it through the military check point with no one near us. Same with Calexico East SENTRI, not another vehicle near by. We made it 388 miles from door to door in 6 hours. Normally our best time is 6:15 to 7 hours.

There is a new Condo high rise, 3 or 4 stories. It is on the far north side of San Felipe, but no advertising in front of the complex. It has been under construction for the past several months and they have finished the exterior and have a new pool and palapa

So, no detours between Mexicali and San Felipe for road construction?

Thanks for that update. Looks like on the 22nd I will leave Houston and pick up a friend to drive thru Mexicali to Gonzaga Bay. Need to know about construction also. we are actually going all the way to Cabo so do you see many going past San Pelipe ?

10-11 miles north of town, about a block back off the highway. Was told it was put there so people could see it and when it sells, they will build other near the beach.
