Didn't realize you were around that long ago.
I remember in those days you almost needed 4 wheel dr. to negotiated the waterfront. Sandy dirt road, with only big boulders holding the sea at bay.
Old Presidente, Alfredo's, Mision hotel and Oasis pretty much it in those days. Loved it though! Good old times!

I came here in 1970 by sailboat and remember the same sights. Nothing paved in the whole town. Anyone remember the old movie theater with no roof?
I think it was the building near the ISSTE market is now?

Ed, I was a young hippie in a Volkswagen Westphalia Camper passing thru on my way home from Mazatlan, via La Paz on the Ferry.
My boyfriend and I stopped in Loreto to cool off and went swimming off the big rocks which were the town jetty....now our illustrious "Darsena" or
fishing harbor. I was impressed back in 1973, too!!

Go back to the original version, which is an option (top right corner) and you just respond to the pop up asking what you don't like about the new
version is that you want the upload resizing options.

Trust me, that was the very first thing I did when I tried to find the downsize option a couple weeks ago. Maybe if we all complain, they will
listen.
The weird part is that my monitor shows the photos just fine !
back to the thread: I am glad that businesses are hanging in there. foot traffic must be down though .... I could not find the entrance to MikKasa
- but now I realize it must be on the malecon and I was looking on the side? I understand that the owner used to be from OB (my old stomping grounds)
and I just wanted so say "hi".

This was taken from the early 80's..after they installed the first wall..
Looking South by Tio and Ann's trailer.. Before the wall was built, we used to launch over the rocks right in front of their trailer...

Well, the 'new photobucket' finally hit me with no option to go back to the old, with upload options. So, until I find it or it is added, here is how
to make our photos fit:
HOW TO RESIZE PHOTOBUCKET PHOTOS FOR BAJA NOMAD WIDTH:
1) Place your mouse arrow on the thumbnail photo in your Photobucket Album, a gear symbol will appear in the photo thumbnail to edit (or select edit
for the photo if already there).
2) Click EDIT and let photo load on the page that appears.
3) Above photo, click RESIZE button (above photo).
4) Width and height values are shown with a padlock between them. The padlock is there to insure you don't distort the photo when you change one of
the values (it 'locks' the width to height ration to remain correct).
5) If the photo is over 800 in width, replace the figure with 800, 640, or other smaller size. No need to change the height figure, it changes
automatically. Photos that are already smaller can be made bigger, as well. The quality may be reduced when enlarging, but not when shrinking.
6) Click Apply and Save (if you check the small box provided you can replace the original, over-size photo with the Nomad-friendly photo, otherwise
you will have both sizes in your Photobucket album).

Use the original version, click upload and you get your choices. Somehow the new version doesn't give you that option.
