Is the historical "Sindicatura" sticker still relevant/effective....and is that just a Baja thing or does it work on the mainland as well?

just put the follwing on the back of your DL:

Mine is reduced in font to a 1/2"x2.5" strip of paper that is covered with scotch tape. put a crease in the tape so when you hand the DL to the
scumbag cop he will ABSOLUTELY feel the crease and turn over your DL.
The look on his face is/will be PRICELESS!!!!

Does this apply to mainland as well as Baja ?
Two widely different views....
I will be motorcycling for a few weeks in Michoacan, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Guererro states in February...and have 6 great drivers license copies made
as "throw-aways"...as part of my " possession management plan" for documents (scanner and lamination project....I should become a counterfeiter
:biggrin ....and wondered if this emblem would be helpful....or antagonistic
Again....what about mainland?

I am doing a road trip now and was stopped just outside Puerto Vallarta, I had the printed note on the back of the license like woody says except
without the cities just the name and numbers in red so they can't miss it. worked like a charm...

I have the big giant one the back of my quad trailer. The police, both feds and locals, have come screamin' up to the back of the trailer, with all
the lights of an amusement park, only to turn them off. Twice, once in S.Q. the other time I was impaired in El Rosario. I'd say the sticker work.
Haven't tried them in Tecate, never see any cops there!

i think it is based on the "county" you are in, for lack of a proper term. ensenada covers a HUGE swath of the peninsula so lacking any other info
just put the above info on your ID. the cop will know you are onto his scam and will think twice about screwing with you.
if you did break the law then deal with it in the right manner.

Myself, I never stick my tongue out at a cop because being of emotional latino stock they may decide to take the bull by the horns and FIND something,
anything to try and prove their manhood.
I wait until I am stopped or queried unnecessarily then drop the hammer on their balls.
I'll never forget the juez's decision about an alleged infraccion in Ensenada when he hold the cop "Your infraccion charge is illegal, frivolous, and
sin justicia" The judge made the cop apologize, and deep purple does not begin to describe the color of that cop's face. I presented my case to the
court politely, with diagrams, and the judge really was courteous and attentive. The cop stormed out of the parking lot with tires squealing and that
pi$$ed the judge off even worse. I wrote a report to los angeles verdes, and explained the episode in full including how fair and complete the juez's
treatment of the case was.
But 99.9% of Americans will flee, like I posted before like frightened rabbits after they get stopped by a traffic cop.

I don't understand the fear of being tapped for a mordida that exists on this board. I have been living in Baja for over 20 years and have driven up
and down the peninsula more times than I can even remember, in that time I have been hit up for a mordida 3 times, two of which I clearly committed an
infraction, of those 3 times I ended up paying 1 mordida of 100 pesos, 1 time I went to the station and paid the multa, and 1 time I was let go after
offering the cop the change in my ashtray. None of these incidents were in the last 7or 8 years. In that same 20 years, even though I spend very
little time in the US, I have been pulled over at least a half dozen times by police in the states resulting in approximately $500 in fines, had my
vehicle searched for no reason once, and was interrogated by a cop after being pulled over for no reason except for having out of state plates. Based
on experience I am much more paranoid of the police in Los Estados Unidos than I am in Mexico. I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky.

Don't have the sindicatura sticker yet but thinking about it just to show off.
Don't agree with anyone thinking it's thumbing a nose at cops. I do believe it put's a cop on notice and THAT is a good thing. And I'd be
doing that with respect even to someone trying to scam me.
Just saw a huge (12'' x 12'') sticker on the back of a Caddy Escalade near Wal Mart in La Paz today. Nice.

SINDICATURA...
The late FRED HOCTOR of Western Outdoor Magazine and News was a proponent of having a visible card or sticker with the 'SINDCATURA' info clearly
marked and visible for them to see. He had apparently had been let go many times with NO mordida or ticket!
