Fish Tornado. A huge school of jack tuna (bigeye trevally) swarm together in this amazing display of courtship. They absolutely dwarf the scuba diver.
Octavio Aburto released a photo titled "David and Goliath" which was so astounding many believed it was staged or altered. It's hard to deny this
natural wonder, the tornado of fish, after viewing his footage.

When I was a kid, growing up in Miami during the 50's and 60's, we used to see huge schools of Jack while we were fishing from Haulover Pier. We
caught so many of them using live pilchards for bait. My Dad would bury them around fruit trees in our back yard, and they made for excellent
fertilizer. We had an abundant amount of key limes, oranges, avocados and mangos every year.
The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.
I have seen the big jack schools in many parts of the world and it is always magnificent, one of the most spectacular underwater sights to be seen.

Some animals are there on some trips and not on others, but you can always count on one thing: the great schools of bigeye jacks (Caranx
sexfasciatus). I have seen big schools of jacks in many other places, the Sea of Cortez, the Solomons, Papua New Guinea, but the size of the Cocos
schools is unmatched. They literally block out the sun. They can be seen at many of the charted Cocos dive sites, but the largest and most reliable
school is at Sharkfin Rock. They are always there, like friends. The big jack schools are one of the most wonderful, emotional, inspiring things I
have seen underwater.
