Ruta 97 restaurant, Ensenada/Valley, Excellent!

Just north of Ensenada going to wine country on #3.

Great experience! We stopped in on a whim for lunch. nobody else in the place, the owner and waiter offerred to make us up a variety according to our tastes. We said go for it....wow!
what we got for $45 was a gourmet meal that tasted wonderful...we could only eat 1/2!
nice dry cheese
bruschetta
bluefin tuna sushi
ribs in orange juice based sauce
nice steak for each of us
rice and veggies
homemade tortillas
3 slabs of halibut
2 kinds of cake
best tequila we ever tasted (special local bottling of Jalisco anejo)
coffee

Stop in and see Javier! We will not drive by this place!

Sounds great... did you get a kilometer post number for it, or their card (may have the km.)?

We had a great lunch at Mustafa's a while back (with Roy, The squarecircle), which is along Mex. 3, north of Ensenada/ south of Francisco Zarco.

I guess so, but which end of the highway....Tecate or Ensenada?
97 Ks is practically the entire distance between the two. I clock 63 miles from the beginning of HWY 3, Ensenada end, to the border gate.

OK....this has to be one of those mysterious Mexican things since the location has nothing obvious to do with 97km.
SAdLM is twenty miles away, toward Tecate, from the turn off to HWY 3.

Km. 0 is in Tecate, so it must be at Km. 97 (60.1 miles from Tecate)...

The restaurant address (see facebook page link) is km 97. Which refers to the km milepost marker. Mustafa's for instance is km93.
