While not official, evidently some of the survivors and the bus driver have reported that the brakes failed on that mountain road. It appears that many of the passengers were medical students from Tijuana.

Very very sad. :no::no:

A tragedy such as this is magnified by the loss to us all.

On KNX 1070, AM in Los Angeles, they reported that the bus driver had yelled at passengers to cal 911 because the brakes were inoperative.
As of early this afternoon, two bodies still remained in the bus, unable to remove them.

Just goes to show you that busses don't have to be in third world countries to have malfunctions.
This one is terrible.

Aleida Arce is one of the fatalities,I hope no relation to our beloved Shari and Juan. This is real bad, the Federales are sending in a team from the N.T.S.B. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families.

Arce is a common name down here, perhaps all related somewhere in the past, but common.
