C'mon you guys....Give DK a break. It's not fair to have a battle of wits with someone who is disarmed.

He is so unhappy that his dream of free enterprise (watering someone's lawn) has fallen apart, that his victim-stance and free time leads him to hang with the rest of the bitter, selfish, dis-enfranchised.

I'm afraid in examining the posts by DK compared to yours easily dispel any question of who is armed with the superior wit, with DK winning hands down. He and a lot of others have provided more help and advice to Baja travelers than any of your posts would indicate. As to his "unhappy dream" of free enterprise, at least he is paying his own way and is not standing around with his hand out, waiting for his vote to be purchased, unlike the large and growing number of tax dollar parasites he helps to support.

The US 9th Appellate Court (Western United States) has decided that authorities now need "Probable Cause" to search/detain any electronic device. Probable cause is greater than mere suspicion, or the 100 mile search clause.....however, before telling any CBP officer to pound sand, you should read the decision and have a good attorney on retainer.

FEAR on the Border

With an overwhelming feeling of abject FEAR and the SURE knowledge that I was about to be assaulted and my belongings ransacked without any HOPE of the LEAST respect for my most basic CIVIL RIGHTS, this afternoon I timidly drove towards the Border kiosk today seen manned by a female tyrant employed by the Fascist American state AND ...................

The lady said "Anything to Declare" ?

To which I replied "NO, except that it's a Beautiful Day".

AMAZINGLY, I was not arrested and thrown in chains into a dark cell, but waved through.

I kept expecting to be ambushed by ICE as I drove North through the Danger Zone, but I suppose I got lucky.

RIGHT ?

How things have changed Quite a few years ago I was returning home from a trip out of the country. I passed through Customs at Houston Inter National Airport. After showing my I.D. a young Marine In Full Dress working the desk Clicked his Heels and Presented me a Crisp Salute and said WELCOME HOME SIR.

Speaking of Border Bother ................

Heading North and reaching the last point at which you could be detoured into Mex Secondary, there are three soldiers (two armed with Automatic weapons).

The guy in charge motions "STOP", walks around and asks me to lower the back window and then points to the rear and says "Baggage" ?

Well, YEAH, OK

"Need to look" ?

"Hay ARMAS" ?

"NO".

"OK".

Told the spouse that they seem to be unclear on the concept.

The idea is to smuggle the guns South to sell.

Isn't it ?
