Ascuncion,A quest completed!

Diane and I left our home in Mulege for a trip to the "other side". I was looking for a place to escape the Mulege heat for a couple of ,months. Our quest started at Campo Renee, near Abrejos. We spent the nite in one of the casitas, had a great dinner at the restaurant in spite of the fact they were sorta not open. I'll be going back for a few days to fish the lagoon, but it wasnt where I wanted to spend a couple of months. We headed up the road to La Bocana, where we spent the night at the B&B of Blanca and Les. Les cooked Polish eggs for us , and Joaquin prepared a great lobster feast for us at his lil restaurant. Off again in the morning, headed for Bahia Ascuncion. The road to Ascuncion was an adventure for Diane, as she hasnt done much Baja driving except for Border to Mulege on Hiway 1. Entering Ascuncion, I immediately liked the place! We found Juan and Sharis B&B without any problems, and settled in to a room with a great ocean view, up close and personal. I was delighted to run into an old friend of mine, arguably the best dirt rider ever, Malcolm Smith. Malcolm and I go way back to ISDT's in Checko, and Austria, and way more places than I can recall. We are both older but Malcolm is still riding and I am not. We spent the evening enjoying the view. Ate in for a change, the room had all we needed to prepare a jiffy supper. Shari fixed us waffles in the morning, awesome! She took us around to look at a couple of rentals, and I hope to be able to spend August and September in Ascunscion. Diane and I also intend to break up our usual speed run from the border to Mulege with a stop at Sharis B&B..No one should be in a hurry in Baja......I think it should be a "must stop". TRY IT
