Sea of Cortez pearls

Lovely! I wasn't aware of these, but then I remembered the Steinbeck novel "the Pearl." I guess it took decades for these to recover from overharvesting.

Mid seventies, a lot of the Loreto fishermen would go to La Paz in the summer and dive for pearls. Too hot to do anything in Loreto.

La Paz Pearls

Hi Nomads. My Mom left me a small box of them and I would like to have them appraised. I have asked some jewelers and they don't seem to know much if anything about them. I would like to will or gift them to my daughters. Anyone know of a person or jeweler close to me that would know their value? They were purchased in La Paz in the mid 60's.

Happiness is just a Baja memory away...
