IS diesel available from pumps @ Santa Rosalia marina?
I have heard more than a few reports that diesel (or possibly ANY fuel) is not being dispensed at the newish fuel dock by the newish Fonatur marina.
Can anyone confirm this?
I hear you have to contract with someone who then ferries cans from a Pemex station in town to the docks.
There is a chance I might come over for the Bulls only tournament (one of these years, I SWEAR I will!!) but I will need to get diesel at least once
while I am there. Well, unless the dorado are five miles off the beach.
Why the interruption in service I have been hearing about? Did someone not pay off someone???

I dont think any fuel is available at the Marina, its simple to get a cab and go a couple of blocks to the new Pemex, bring containers...

I'm almost positive it is available. I'll ask later when folks wake up.

No, the Pemex tank by Singlar is not dispensing fuel at this point and we do not see any changes in that in the near future. You can set up gas or
diesel delivery ( if you are using larger amounts) from an independent carrier, Jose Tomas Rosales, Telephone 612-124-6488 or Cell 615-155-7657. If
you give him a couple of days heads up, things usually go smoothly as he also provides the fuel for the seiners, mine boats, and military.
If you are going to haul your own, like in smaller batches, then I would park at the old marina, where I have my boat, and it is a very short
distance to the Pemex by the marina. There is a kid who works there who is more than happy to haul the plastic Botes and the marina office has a good
handcart which they will let you use.

OK, thanks for all that good info, Jim. I have four, 5 gallon cans I suppose I could bring over, filled, dump em in at the old marina dock and have
them refilled and put those in, too. I generally burn about 30-40 gallons going over. That should be enough for a day's fishing and the return trip to
SC, without having to go all the way back up to SR before I cross.

Now the bad news. There is not much going on at Tortuga. The yellowtail have been pretty slow there. I have seen no billfish to speak of, it seems
they are all on your side according to the tournament results. Cabrilla were really wide open this spring and early summer but have slowed down as of
late. Dorado are starting to show, but not really consistent. Yellowtail fishing on the north side of San Marcos is very good, but that makes a
long haul to find a few yellowtail.
I almost loaded some extra fuel in my fishing boat and headed over there but the south winds made me change my mind on that. But it was unbelivable
that most boats had 30 + releases on billfish for the tournament. At least I could have filled up over there.
But, we would love to have you for the Bulls Only Tournament and it does not matter what size the fish are, you only need to get the largest one. I
found a couple that were mid twenties to begining 30 but had to hunt a long ways to find those. But the current south wind conditions will warm that
water up quick and hopefully deposit some nice bulls. Imagine, 1st place brings $1,000 dollars US and that should fill your boat a couple of times.
