purchasing beer and wine in Todos Santos
In July my wife and I will be returning to Todos Santos for the third time - but only the first where we will have access to a full kitchen with a
refrigerator. Among the staples we'd like to have on hand are beer and wine. Is there anywhere in Todos Santos where we can purchase local libations?
Being a relative newbie, I don't know off-hand, for example, if convenience stores like Oxxo sell beer, or where wine can be purchased without having
to drive to either La Paz or Cabo. Any tips would be appreciated.

There are at least two wine shops and most markets carry an assortment of wine, OXXO carries beer and wine also, but the best deals on wine will be
found at places like Costco, Wall Mart, and other big stores in Cabo or La Paz so stock up when you go to the city.

I saw a goodly surtido of wine there a year or so ago. Much more than is to be normally found. Beer overflows.

Thanks for the replies! It's good to know that Oxxo carries beer and wine. It will be interesting to see what sort of selection is to be found.
Here in Boston I can afford to be a beer snob, but in Baja I'm partial to Pacifico. I have yet to taste any Mexican wines and am looking forward to
some fruitful "research".
In the U.S., each state differs as to which stores can carry which kinds of liquor. In Massachusetts, only a small handful of supermarkets are
licensed to carry beer and wine, but liquor stores can sell both - along with hard liquor. When I lived in New York, liquor stores sold wine and hard
liquor but never beer. Go figure!
Lastly, I just started subscribing to the Baja Western Onion within the past few weeks (about the same time I registered for this forum). I didn't
notice ads for beer and wine, but will take a closer look.

I try to shop in the local markets to help out the townspeople. Not Oxxo. Chilean or Mexican (LA Cetto) wines. Cerveza & Vino in most stores.
Shops & Restaurants better watch your pocketbook! Eat at Taco stands; good food and Mexican flavor. OK to carry in a coldie.
Practice your bad Spanish. Most long term residents shop in Cabo or La Paz & only eat out once a week or so. Mono didn't mention a new place,
too. El Bistro . July is a beautiful month. Que disfrute!  Tio ps Let

I've never been to El Bistro, but have heard good things about it and would like to check it out. Our first trip to Todos Santos was a very touristy
day trip, so we ate at Tequila Sunrise. Our next trip was for a week, but we had no kitchen, so we ate at the restaurants in La Guyara, the Todos
Santos Inn and Hotel Casa Tota, in addition to Los Adobes and Cafe Santa Fe. For us, the "hidden gem" was Boyitaco, where we had several delicious
lunches. This time around we're looking forward to being off the beaten track. Not only will we try preparing many of our own meals, but we'll visit
La Esquina, El Gusto, and the aforementioned El Bistro. And of course, Baja Beans on Sunday.

For some true local flavor try Las Barrancas....did I spell that correctly?
Killer tacos(meat and seafood) and cheap.
