Trapped in an empty pila. Rescued after the requisite photographs.
There must have been something good to eat in the funky water in the wet end of Manuel's empty pila. Once in, they couldn't climb out. There were five
all together.
We've got 'em here too, but their steady diet of Koi is getting a bit expensive!

They look 'cute', but they can be on the 'mean' side, too.
I know what you mean about 'expensive' in the Koi department!
About 20 yrs ago when we lived on the outskirts of Livermore, here in No. Calif, I built a nice fish pond in our front court-yard. Not knowing any
better, I made one end only about 14 inches deep.
Later, on a trip to Singapore, I brought back about 50 small koi in a plastic bag filled with oxygen - to keep em' alive on the long trip back. They
thrived in our pond for a couple of years and of course got much bigger! Then one night we were 'hit' by a pack of Raccoons that had been casing our
yard. Our dogs didn't have access to the courtyard, so the 'coons' just dined on some fine imported Koi for several nights, till I noticed a definite
'thinning' of the 'school'...
I borrowed a large trap and caught several of those thieving coons and transported em' way back in the hills to the south of Livermore! They sure
didn't like being caged up! Fightin' and clawing all the way!
As I said, cute, but mean - and destructive to our pond fish population. We also had some 'free-range' Guinea pigs in our court yard, and those
damned coons dispatched every one of those cute little critters, during the great Livermore 'raccoon siege' at our casa!
According to my clock...anytime is \'BAJA TIME\' & as Jimmy Buffett says,
\"It doesn\'t use numbers or moving hands It always just says now...\"
