Mulege off road race, many pics
Sat. night was registration and that turned into a show and tell. It was supposed to start at 5pm, then 6, then 7... I registered at 11pm. It was
great for the kids as you will see...they loved it. Sunday I was a bit foggy, hung over from taking pics? or maybe it was the cold pacificos. Anyhow,
I was ready to race! Car/truck classes started about 4 or 5 and finished at sunset. 3 laps totaling about 100k. Positions were by lotto, I started 11
out of 12 and passed 4 cars and battled one car for an entire lap, trading places every mile. It was a rough technical course. It was a blast being my
first race.I completely blew/shredded a front tire 3/4 of the way thru the second lap. Front end is so light, I could keep driving, basically on an
inner tube. It was a very old tire. New ones coming from Loreto next week. The BFG KM2 on the rear didn't have a mark on them.
There will be a race in Santa Rosilita in a few weeks, more info coming. And Mulege will be having another race on Nov 24th.

Thanks everyone. This race was the first for a new Mulege Car / Moto club. They will have at least 2 races a year, probably more and they will get
bigger. The next mulege race is Nov. 24th, put on by Mulege in Motion, a non profit charity organization. This will be thelr 4th year, running 2
races, plus the gringo quad race. The Nov. Race will be a huge event. Santa Rosilia will have a race on Oct. 20th.

Thanks for sharing. Is that you in the red 99 car? What class is that?
If you have a map of the course, that would be interesting to see.
¡Buena suerte at future races!

Yeap, That is me. It was originally built in 1982 as a class 9 by Funco. It has a built motor now and I put mid travel suspension in front with
beefier spindles etc. I had to also modify the roof so I could use a suspension seat and have head room. More pics on my blog, under 'Funco''. This
group will have at least one race per year and Mulege in Motion will have a race in Nov. or possibly Dec.
Here is a map of the course. It included 2 straights of about 2 km each and the rest was narly, rocky, ruttty, narrow, steep, sandy, tight twisty
turns. Each lap was 31k. It was a blast! until I blew a tire.....

Very cool! your car is very clean, Gill George, was ahead of his time!
Maybe some FOX shocks, for the ride? These races are so much fun.
Hope we can make one some day
