We have WiMax which we get through Telnor (the phone company). It is fast and pretty reliable (I've had it go out a couple of times for a short period
of time). You get the internet bundled with a home phone for about 30.00 month. The problem is that it can take quite a while for it to be installed.
We were on "The list" for about 6 months before an installer came. They call you the day of installation so if you are not there you will need to
leave a number of someone who will be there. You'll have to go down into town to the Telnor office to sign up. They didn't require a deposit, but you
do need to bring in your passport and something with your address on the ranch on it like your power bill. Hope this helps.
Whenever I hear that rainy, chill wind blow. I think it may be time to head for Mexico. Tengo que obedecer mi corazon!

I also have WiMax, and I was fortunate and only waited a few short weeks to get my WiMax service
I have the slow speed, but it works good for VOIP and Netflix.
I am using overplay.net for a Super DNS service. This allows me to listen to Pandora and watch Netflix.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out overplay.
Since I'm just starting to build my little garage/casita this winter, I don't have power yet. but will install solar power sometime. maybe this
year.
Will Wimax work without electricity?

Great Blog you have ccorbridge
I have found that there are many Face Book sites that are directly about San Felipe. Very very helpful and a great way to make contacts within the SF
community.
Just type in San Felipe in the search box at FB
We are down the road at Campos Ocotillo......part timers :-)
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

That's my plan. Look around and see what others have done. No need to reinvent the wheel. I've read a couple books to get an idea of the basics.
but nothing like hands on.
I'd like to do it right the first time, if possible.

Yes...you are correct.
When Salvador was alive, he give the local community to make that sand golf course. He also built that AA meeting place you see there . The course is
free to use.
That's what is great about the Baja.......the people.
Randy operates http://www.blueroadrunner.com/ It's a great site filled with links that are extremely helpful. The lower right of the opening page of
blueroadrunner has a time/traffic links for the Calixico east or west gate of the border. You will find good info on solar there too.
Good luck with your project down the road.
