Whales in Magdalena Bay?

We're flying into La Paz on Dec. 27, spending the night and then driving up to Nopolo, where I have a borrowed house to stay in, flying back out on Jan. 4th. I've been whale watching quite a few times in Guerrero Negro and San Ignacio, and I'd be interested in trying Magdalena Bay. I know it's really too early for whales, but my friend's never been whale watching in Baja at all, so we might swing by and check it out on our trip to or from La Paz, and hope there are a few early whales. Suggestions of where to go and who to check with? Thanks!

If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen. Henry David Thoreau
