La Bocana
A quick post about the 4 amigos recent trip to La Bocana for the first time. Stayed with Les and Blanca, fished with the coop boats, and just have
nothing but positive things to say. Les would come down to the BnB and cook a breakfast anyone wanted, although we all loved his "Polish eggs".
Coffee always ready!
Fishing was good, excellent skippers, Domingo, his son Oso, and Jauqine one day. Beautiful water, some wind, but a great time.
Thanks to Les and Blanca for also taking care of amigo Greg who got snapped by a sting ray.
La Bocana is a town that just has wonderful people that are ready to take care of any wish you may have. Supplies - "c-cktail ice" readily available,
and all the other necessities (tecate).
We normally vacuum seal our own fish, but one day had the co-op do it. They did a great job and vacuum sealed small portions as per our request. The
guys working the boats in the morning were awesome, got us ice for the fish, provided a lunch, and were there departing and arriving to help us!
Just a wonderful Baja experience. If you have the time get down there and experience a great Baja (turn the clock back) town, with modern (wifi,
supplies..) accommodations.

Fish Report
Day 1 was windy - water around 69-70 with white caps. Caught all the small YT (Bait, iron, swimbaits) you wanted with a few larger ones mixed in.
Also Calicos were plentiful. Day 2 took us north to San Hipolito where we found wind, green 66 degree water. Turned around and headed back to La
Bocana and fished in 70 degree blue water for dorado, YT and again calicos. Day 3 headed back to the area off the beach between Bocana and Punta
Abreojos for great grouper and calico fishing. Beautiful water, warm, fishing in depths from 12' to about 50'. Bait, iron, and swimbaits worked for
all.

And they brought a lot of donations, this time for teachers, so I went around to all the schools distributing fun! This is the preschool principal:

And my mom, who always sends fun stuff for the kids, sent dress up clothes for little ones, so I gave these to the educacion inicial parents. A parent
education program the ladies in town participate in:

And this last photo, below, is the whole kit and caboodle that Nappo and amigos brought. The notebooks and pens went to the college teens who are in
La Paz and Santa Rosalia. Thanks again, Nappo! The school administrators were really happy!
Yes, that is the new restaurant Pacifico, and unfortunately, we were a bigger group than this and apparently the orders got quite mixed up! Learning
curve, for sure!

Blanca, we had a great time and glad the donations will get good use. All Baja Nomad folks should look at the school sales in Aug - Walmart, Staples,
Target, all have "specials" where you can buy 2-3 things really cheap. (pencils, pens, notebooks) Just store them and bring them on down on your next
trip and find a school!

Yes, yes. And it is good to see that the donations are given to the proper people, and with Blanca, that would never be in doubt.
