Bocana Adventures New Cabanas

Thought I would give you a peek inside the new beach log cabanas in la bocana. They rent for $50 a night and have 2 queen beds:

inside the bathroom:

looking out from inside you get a spectacular view of the water, which is right at your doorstep. Now.....gorgeous as it is, sometimes the currents mix up the waters and the smell here ain't so pretty

They look simple, clean, very nice and what a great view.

The small bay in Bahia Asuncion also gets those not so nice smells at times.

It is really good that you freely post about your competition! That is a good thing.

Justin case you hadn't seen the front yet, here is a pic. There are 4 cabanas ready and the next 2 are being built. They are quite popular and fill up quickly.

They look very nice and have a good location for beachcombers. Who are the owners? Fishing tours? Baja is growing. Thanks. Tio

This operation was organized by BOCANA ADVENTURES which is really a subsidiary of our local fishing cooperative. Our village is growing but they are doing a good job at the cabanas: the shower water is solar heated ... the managers have totally worked on keeping the beach pristine - they posted signs all over the place, trash cans all over and will even hand out a fine if they see someone littering. I am thrilled to have the restaurant too. It was looooong overdue.

$50.00 per night seems like a great deal!

Bring your own food.

Can you drive your car next to the cabanas, or is it a long walk?

You can park right in front! However, watch the tides when they are super high.

Udo, there are no kitchens but the food (depending on what you choose) is really inexpensive at the restaurant. My cheeseburger (which is so big I usually split it in 2) and two lemonades with mineral water was $100 pesos.

Hey Blanca!

I see you brought ElCap and wife over there with you.

I'm attaching a few more pictures from when you and I went there for everyone, including beachfront views from the cabins, below.

All of my posted imagery is 800 x ### pixels. If you like a photo and want the high-resolution (garmongous) version , please contact me privately and I will get it to you.

Good looking cabins!

I wish this new outfit success. Are they offering whalewatching tours? And does Jorge Velasquez work with Bocana Adventures?

I met Jorge at Kuyima in the spring. Very nice young man.

He was working at the San Ignacio camp to learn more about the hospitality/service industry for ecotourism visitors, then apply his knowledge at La Bocana.

Hope that is working well for him and the new venture.

Bajacat. Did you post pics from that trip? I dont remember seeing them! Please come again!

As far as I know, they dont offer whalewatching.

Jorge, I believe, is the bartender and he is awesome! Speaks English very well. As does Geovane, who is manager of the fishing part of the operation.

Bajacat,

Do you format your card when you first use it and after you download the images? If not make that a routine, when first using a new card or freshly downloaded one.

You should find format in the menu. It will prompt you that formatting will erase any files left on the card.

Ken

ElCap has given me his word that he will make a trip report on their experience in those same mountains. I am soooooooo curious.
