Not true, there are 4 other states now licensed by the Mexican government to produce Tequila as well as Jalisco.


From the maps I've seen the growing area for the blue agaves, bleed's, across some state borders but, I would say nearly 100% is in Jalisco. And I would say that most production and bottling is done in Jalisco, however, it can be bottled elsewhere in Mexico and be called tequila
